Delta Air Lines subsidiary Delta Private Jets will become the first business aviation charter/management provider to implement a fleet-wide installation of Gogo Biz 4G, the high-speed airborne connectivity system that Gogo is bringing to the business aviation market. Gogo’s 4G service has been available to its airline customers since 2012, and Gogo Business Aviation’s 4G service will enter service in the second quarter of 2017.
Gogo Biz 4G delivers data speeds of up to 9.8 Mbps, more than three times as fast as the current Gogo Biz 3G service at up to 3.1 Mbps. Services available on Gogo Biz 4G include the ability to stream movies and audio from Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Spotify and so on, as well as email with attachments, web browsing, voice calls and VPN access. Gogo’s Text & Talk and Gogo Vision video streaming and flight-tracking services will also work on the 4G system. The Gogo air-to-ground service area covers the continental U.S. and parts of Alaska and Canada.
"We are excited to bring this technology to the discerning customers who turn to Delta Private Jets for their specialized travel needs," said David Sneed, Delta Private Jets executive v-p and COO. "We are also proud to further differentiate our company by becoming the first to offer Gogo Biz 4G on a fleet-wide scale.” The company plans to install Gogo Biz 4G on more than 70 airplanes.
