FAA Publishes Notam for Pope’s Visit to Philly

TFRs apply to New York and Washington Center.

The FAA published two identical Notams—5/8485 and 5/8486—creating Presidential-like temporary flight restriction (TFR) zones around the Philadelphia area during the visit of Pope Francis beginning September 26. One Notam applies to New York Center’s airspace and the other to Washington Center's. A 12-nm TFR ring centered on the Woodstown (OOD) OOD029020.2 prohibits general aviation operations at Philadelphia International (PHL), Northeast Philadelphia (PNE) and Wings Field (LOM) Airports from 9 a.m. local (1300z) on September 26 until 9:30 p.m. local (28/0130z) on September 27.
