FAA Updates AC on Use of Portable Electronic Devices
The document is one means for an operator to determine if it can safely expand passenger PED use to more phases of flight.

The FAA on May 7 released an updated version of advisory circular (AC) 91-21.1C for the use of portable electronic devices (PED) aboard aircraft. The AC was originally created to halt the use of a variety of portable electronic devices that could interfere with aircraft navigation or communication systems, especially concerning under IFR conditions.
