NetJets Donates $1 Million to OSU for NextGen Research
Donation furthers partnership that was formed four years ago with Ohio State University.

NetJets donated $1 million to further its aviation research and professional development partnership with The Ohio State University. The Columbus, Ohio-based fractional ownership provider formed the partnership with Ohio State four years ago to establish the center for aviation studies that would focus on NextGen initiatives.

The newest donation is designed to support faculty, research initiatives, outreach and internships. A portion of the donation supports research that involves the integration of data analytics with aviation operations to develop new concepts that will improve safety, accessibility and sustainability. That research is conducted in concert with the FAA’s NextGen program. The donation also supports the addition of a designated chair of aviation modernization and professor of aviation, along with funds for up to five interns a year.

The donation follows the recent five-year memorandum of understanding that NetJets signed with the FAA to implement NextGen projects. The MOU also covered working with Ohio State computer engineering experts to analyze FAA operational data.
