‘Flying Over’ Trip Narration Adds To the Picture

In years gone by (many of them, in fact) the pilot would often provide a running narrative, a travelogue if you will, pointing out landmarks, rivers, mountains, cities. With “Flying Over,” creators Ted Roberts and Pat Woolley have revived the nostalgia of those years, adding professional flair and a nod to the latest technology.

The Flying Over system interfaces neatly with the cabin entertainment system’s moving-map display. Throughout the trip, as passengers follow the flight track, they can also listen to facts, stories, songs and sounds from the areas passing by beneath, using audio to paint an entertaining and informative picture.
