Charles Alcock is managing editor of the AIN Media Group, having rejoined the company in 2019. He has been an aviation journalist since 1986, and previously worked for AIN from 1990 to 2017, most recently as editor-in-chief. His main focus is on covering new aviation technology and business models, as well as international news.
Having been raised in the London area, Alcock studied at the University of Manchester in the UK and earned an honors degree in Politics and Modern History. He speaks English and French, and some German.

The UK’s PremiAir group has closed its <a href="http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/aviation-international-news/2010-08-03/premiair-moves-london-biggin-hill">fixed-wing charter operation</a> as part of a consolidation process. It has already sold one of its three Bombardier Learjet 45s and will likely sell the other two. “We lost a lot of money on the fixed-wing operation and it is questionable whether it was a good idea to get into this business with that type of aircraft,” commented group operations director Christopher Forrest. PremiAir will continue its activities in helicopter charter, management and maintenance, as well as operating a service center for Hawker Beechcraft aircraft at Oxford Airport.
