The families of the flight instructor and student pilot who were killed when their Cessna was overtaken and struck by a PHI Medical EMS helicopter have filed a $120 million wrongful death suit against the helicopter owner and its pilot. The accident occurred as the helicopter prepared to land at Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport on New Year’s Eve 2010. The helicopter, with three crew aboard, landed safely after shearing the wing off the Cessna.
