The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) established a new airports, handling and ground operations committee (AHGOC). It has set four core goals: support the sustainable growth of business aviation and the interests of EBAA members by promoting fair, equitable access to airports; ensure safety and standards of best practices at airports and handling companies; promote environmentally friendly operations to the benefit of local communities; and fight for fair competition to the benefit of all stakeholders to meet the needs of aircraft operators, their passengers and crews. EBAA previously had a committee that focused on FBOs and handling services, but this has been largely inactive for some time and is now being relaunched. The first AHGOC chairman is Michel de Ronne of Aéroport de Paris (Le Bourget Airport) and it will be represented on the EBAA board by Guy Brodin. AHGOC has set up two working groups to concentrate on airports and handling. The committee will stage an event to promote best practices during EBACE in May. It is also laying plans to organize subsequent events outside the context of EBACE.
