Jet Aviation announced last month it has begun construction of its new FBO and maintenance facility at the Dubai International Airport, United Arab Emirates. Expected to be operational in January, the new facility will offer scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications and avionics installations and retrofits for a range of business aircraft. The maintenance division is currently applying for status as an authorized service center with several aircraft and engine manufacturers. The hangar and workshops will be equipped with the most recent fire-detection and firefighting technology.

The FBO terminal will have a reception area with a refreshment center; a VIP customer lounge; a conference room; a prayer room; in-house customs and immigration service; and private offices. For security, the facility will offer baggage and passenger screening and metal-detector stations. Passengers will have dressing rooms and showers, while flight crewmembers will have their own separate lounge area, a briefing room, snooze room and a fully equipped kitchen for catering.
