<p>Difficult airspace and airport access combined with high costs are stunting the growth of business aviation in Asia, but governments in the region are beginning to get the message and are expected to improve the situation before too long. This was the message from Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) president Jason Liao at today's opening general session of the inaugural Asian Business Aviation Conference &amp; Exhibition (ABACE). The Shanghai, China event drew 45 exhibitors and 1,605 visitors on the first day alone. Government officials from China and Japan also attended ABACE, giving AsBAA and NBAA a prime opportunity to lobby for improved conditions for the industry. “Let's do for business aviation in Asia what the city of Shanghai has achieved in terms of phenomenal economic growth over the past few years,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen in his opening address.</p>
