Bills submitted to up age-60 rule to 65
Sen.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) and former airline pilot Rep. Jim Gibbons (R-Nev.) have re-introduced legislation to increase the mandatory retirement age of Part 121 airline pilots from 60 to 65. The two men believe the current regulation is outdated and changing it would save jobs and retain experienced pilots. Previous attempts to change the 44-year-old rule, including one submitted by Inhofe and Gibbons during the last session of Congress, have failed. The bills are aptly identified as H.R.65 and S.65.
