Boeing has chosen the new Jet Aviation Dubai facility as an authorized service center for the Boeing Business Jet, the companies announced here yesterday. The deal allows Jet Aviation to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services as well as warranty work for the growing number of BBJ owners here in the Middle East. Jet Aviation Dubai joins the company’s other BBJ repair centers in Singapore, Geneva and Basel, Switzerland.

Jet Aviation Dubai opened its maintenance shop and FBO in May and officially inaugurated it here last night. The building encompasses some 45,200 sq ft of hangar space; a 10,760-sq-ft workshop; and a two-story, 11,300-sq-ft executive terminal. The facility also holds factory service authorizations from Rockwell Collins and Dassault Falcon for the Falcon 900 and 2000 series. Negotiations with other major OEMs continue.

Separately, the Jet Aviation operation in Dusseldorf, Germany, recently finished a project to almost double the size of its maintenance production area and added 20,450 sq ft of workspace. Hangar One now encompasses six maintenance bays. Work crews completed the new flooring and heating system within two months using a five-layer process that includes granite, copper and a special nonskid lamination, which together help prevent leaks of special fluids used during maintenance.

Jet Aviation Dusseldorf offers complete maintenance, repair and overhaul, avionics, refurbishment, FBO and 24-hour AOG-services. It serves as an authorized repair center for the Cessna CitationJets, Raytheon Aircraft’s Beech series, the Premier I and the Hawker 400 XP as well as for the Embraer Legacy, Piaggio Avanti and the full line of Piper turboprops. The facility consists of three hangars covering 66,100 sq ft of floor space, including various workshops, a spare parts stock and a technical library. Jet Aviation Dusseldorf also serves as the headquarters of the two Jet Aviation MRO stations in Germany, located in Hannover and Kassel.
