Embraer continues to work to strengthen its supply chain with a focus on collaboration at its recently held Embraer Supplier Advisory Council (ESAC) meeting. Hosted by Garmin at its headquarters in Olathe, Kansas, the ESAC discussed efforts to bolster the aerospace supply chain through digitalization, automation, artificial intelligence, and operational efficiency.
Council members provided overviews of collaborative initiatives they have undertaken over the year in areas such as automation, inventory management, artificial intelligence, systems integration, and manufacturing process acceleration, Embraer said.
Suppliers participating in the event included ASE (Italy), Diehl Aviation (Germany), FACC (Austria), Fokker Services (Netherlands), Globo Usinagem (Brazil), Hexcel (U.S.), Moog (U.S.), Pratt & Whitney (North America), and SAP (Germany).
“ESAC continues to be an important platform for collaboration between Embraer and our strategic partners,” said Roberto Chaves, executive v-p of global procurement and supply chain at Embraer. “The success of the initiatives presented demonstrates how knowledge sharing and joint solution development can generate tangible benefits throughout the supply chain while strengthening our ability to meet growing demand in the global market.”
Carl Wolf, v-p of aviation sales, marketing, programs, and support at Garmin, agreed. “Events like this strengthen strategic relationships, foster innovation, and create opportunities to develop solutions that benefit the entire industry.”
