Boeing Sees Positive Net Orders in May as 787 Deliveries Stall

The U.S. airframer saw orders outpace cancellations by 20 airplanes while it delivered 17 jets during the month of May.

Boeing saw net order totals increase for the fourth straight month in May while deliveries remain suppressed due largely to the latest pause in 787 deliveries and continuing efforts to fix an electrical grounding problem in the 737 Max flight deck. Posting figures on its website Tuesday, Boeing ended the month with net orders for 20 airplanes, raising the total for the year to 97. The company delivered just 17 airplanes during the month, including two 787s and eleven 737s.
