Iran Goes West for Airliners, But East for Fighters

Iran at last starts to receive Western airliners as sanctions are lifted but is looking East for military aircraft.

Iran’s Qaher-313 is a “stealthy” configuration inspired by the indigenous Shafaq fighter design.

While Iran has started to re-equip with modern airliners from the West, freed at last from sanctions, it is still having to look East for purchases of fighters and other defense equipment, strengthening ties with Russia in particular.
