ENOC claims to fuel 55 percent of DXB flights

 


Dubai-based Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) claims to fuel 55 percent of the flights leaving Dubai International Airport (DXB) through its EPPCO Aviation unit, it said on the eve of Dubai Airshow 2017.

 


“Every day, we manage around 15 million liters to support more than 330 flights from DXB,” said Burhan Al Hashemi, managing director, ENOC Marketing.

 


ENOC, supported by EPPCO, supplies fuel from its Jebel Ali Refinery to Dubai’s airports, including DXB and Al Maktoum International (DWC), also airshow site. ENOC is also an active participant in the operation of the Joint Industry Fuel Farm and Hydrant fueling system at DXB.

 


ENOC jet-fuel supply at DXB has risen from 6,000 cubic metres a day in 1998, when it was first commissioned, to 18,000 cubic metres, following commissioning of a second pipeline from the DXB fuel tank farm in 2015.

 


“Up to 10 minutes of fueling time is save on the 100-plus flights a day of B737 aircraft refueled using a specially designed low-bed hydrant dispenser, which improves safety and efficiency by being positioned directly under the aircraft’s wing,” an ENOC press release said.

 


ENOC has also led fire-safety and change-management training at DXB, helping the authorities identify accident prone areas on the airport’s periphery.
