A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Aircraft structures and window specialist GKN Aerospace announced today at the Farnborough International Airshow that it has signed a major long-term agreement with Boeing subcontractor Spirit Aerosystems to supply cabin windows for the 737NG and 737 Max narrowbody airliners 
GKN’s passenger cabin window for the 737 family features the company’s CrystalVue II abrasion-resistant coating, which the manufacturer claims offers the best optical clarity and longest operational life of any cabin window currently available. There are more than two million of its windows in service on aircraft from manufacturers around the world.
Located at Garden Grove in California, GKN’s transparencies facility has been Spirit’s sole-source supplier for the Next-Gen 737’s passenger cabin windows for the past 10 years, and this new multi-million dollar deal will continue that relationship through the end of 2025.
“This agreement reflects the strength of both our relationship with Spirit and our position as the global market-leading supplier of passenger cabin windows,” said Gavin Wesson, vice president of GKN Aerospace’s special products group. “Over its 10-year duration, the agreement will provide Spirit with an extremely flexible and cost-competitive service as this longer time frame gives our transparencies business the stability to plan ahead and invest, ready to support Spirit as they respond to changes in their customer requirements in the future.”
GKN (Chalet G1) makes a variety of passenger cabin and cockpit windows for a mix of civil and military aircraft.
