A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

The Lincoln (Nebraska) Airport Authority has kicked off a $100 million reconstruction project on primary Runway 18/36 at Lincoln Airport (KLNK), which—at more than 12,000 feet—is the longest runway in the state.
Originally constructed in the mid-1950s to support the operation of six-engine Boeing B-47 Stratojet bombers at the former Lincoln Air Force Base, the runway’s length allows KLNK to accommodate a wide range of aircraft, including some of the largest military and civilian aircraft operating today.
“At 12,901 feet long, Runway 18/36 is one of the longest runways in the country and one of Nebraska’s most important pieces of transportation infrastructure,” said Rachel Barth, the authority’s director of marketing and air service development. “This investment preserves a nationally significant asset that supports economic development, military readiness, commercial aviation, and emergency response capabilities.”
A collaboration between the Lincoln Airport Authority, Nebraska Air National Guard, FAA, Nebraska Department of Transportation, and numerous community stakeholders,&nbsp;the project is funded through a partnership of federal, state, and local resources. It is slated for completion by the end of 2027.
