Safran Electrical to Open New Singapore Support Facility

The French aerospace group signed an agreement with Singapore Economic Development Board

Safran Electrical and Singapore EDB sign agreement — Officials from Safran Electrical & Power and Singapore's Economic Development Board signed an agreement to establish a new facility for aeronautical electrical equipment.

Safran Electrical & Power is preparing to open a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Singapore. On Tuesday, the French aircraft engines and systems group signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore Economic Development Board to agree terms for the new base, which will focus on supporting aeronautical electrical equipment.

The 30,1000-square-foot facility is to be located in the Seletar Aerospace Park and will accommodate 50 employees from the Thales aeronautical electrical systems business that Safran acquired in October 2023. Thje company will use it for production as well as MRO work. The business unit specializes in electric conversion, power generation, and electric motors for civil and military aircraft.
