The four pillars of GE Aerospace OnPoint start with a comprehensive program like no other in the market space. Historically engine programs have offered different levels of service and coverages.&nbsp; Terms like “light” or “Gold/Silver” provided for reduced coverages with a reduced cost. However, that did not translate into positive benefits when actually utilizing the program. More importantly, when it came time to sell the aircraft, the valuation was reduced significantly compared to those aircraft with full or complete coverage.&nbsp;
Considering how that could affect residual values of GE Aerospace powered aircraft, OnPoint was created with a single service level with concierge type coverage. This eliminated the questions of what was or was not covered. Outside of an insurable event like FOD, which are not covered by programs traditionally, GE Aerospace OnPoint covers all parts, labor, shop visits, line-replaceable units (LRU), SBs, ADs, loaners, and includes transportation for both core and loaner engines.
Demonstrating our commitment to comprehensive coverage, in 2018 with the entry into service of the Bombardier Global 7500 powered by the GE Passport engine, GE OnPoint launched its Integrated Propulsion System or IPS coverage. This was an industry leading departure from engine only program coverage. The IPS coverage now encompasses essentially everything from the engine mounts out.&nbsp; OnPoint coverage includes not only the engine, but the engine mounts, inlet, nacelle, cowling, LRU’s and thrust reversers.
OnPoint transparency starts with our simplified agreements. GE committed to its customers that our program documents would be easy to understand and explain exactly what you were getting when you enrolled. The OnPoint agreements start with a concise program coverage breakdown which includes the specifics of your aircraft, engines, and mission profile. The rest is focused on making it easy to leverage the program.&nbsp;
Many aircraft change owners during the term of an engine program. Understanding that, GE Aerospace OnPoint’s transferability provides another key benefit for our customers. There are no hidden fees or transfer costs when an aircraft changes owners while on OnPoint. The contract can be transferred or, depending on the new owner’s mission profile, a new agreement signed to meet their specific needs. The process is simple, has no fees and makes things quick and easy, helping facilitate the aircraft closing.
GE’s OnPoint customers operate all over the globe, 365 days a year. Business aircraft are a unique type of operation. Unlike commercial aircraft, there is no set schedule or team of dedicated maintenance personnel and facilities. AOG takes on a different meaning when considering business aircraft. At any time, the aircraft can be called upon to perform a mission of varied scope. Individual operators or flight departments are not set up to support engine or IPS maintenance requirements away from their home base. With the global footprint of GE Aerospace, OnPoint customers have the peace of mind knowing that if they need support in Teterboro or Tahiti, we will be there.
