<p>Nearly $1 million spent on advertising began to materialize on April 26 with the launch of new TV commercials offering free introductory flight certificates from the Be A Pilot program and a $49 first lesson at more than 2,000 flight schools in the U.S. and Canada. The ads, filmed in March at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta, run through late summer on cable stations such as The Discovery Channel, Discovery Wings, Tech TV, Do It Yourself network, Discovery Science and Discovery Times. For the first time, three 60-second ads will appear in addition to the traditional 30-second spots, and they will contain “more direct sell to consumers,” according to Be A Pilot CEO Drew Steketee.</p>
