In a move that will create one of the largest aerospace lighting businesses, Goodrich has entered into an agreement with Germany’s Hella KG Hueck & Co. to purchase a 95-percent stake in Hella Aerospace, one of the largest manufacturers of aerospace lighting systems in the world, according to Goodrich officials. The acquired operation, with annual revenues of about $45 million and 240 employees, will be combined with Goodrich’s existing lighting operations. The resulting entity, to be called Goodrich Hella Aerospace Lighting, will be headquartered in Lippstadt, Germany. Goodrich’s Oldsmar, Fla. facility will serve as the base of operations in North America. Closing of the deal is expected in the third quarter.
