Beta Installs First Electric Aircraft Recharging Station in Southeast U.S.

Working with Georgia Power, the eVTOL aircraft developer has installed three charging units at Augusta Regional Airport.

Augusta Regional Airport in Georgia has become the latest location for the electric recharging stations Beta Technologies has developed for eVTOL aircraft, such as its Alia 250 model. The manufacturer unveiled the new facility, which is the first of its type in the Southeast U.S., on March 22 in partnership with Georgia Power.

Four charging stations have been installed in Augusta, one inside the airfield fence and three in the short-term and general aviation parking lots. The airside charging station supports fast charging up to 350 kW and is compatible with multiple eVTOL aircraft designs, while the dual-port units in the airport’s parking areas can also support electric ground vehicles.
