Miami-based charter and cargo flight provider Global Crossing Airlines Group, or GlobalX, has provisionally agreed to purchase 50 all-electric Alice aircraft from Eviation. Eviation announced on Thursday that GlobalX has signed a letter of intent to buy the commuter aircraft, with the first deliveries expected in 2027.
Eviation, an electric aircraft developer based in Washington state, is gearing up for the first test flight of its redesigned Alice aircraft. The company has said that it expects to fly the nine-seat Alice before the end of this summer. Eviation also plans to introduce a cargo version of the Alice aircraft, as well as an executive version that would seat just six passengers. The fully electric Alice produces no carbon emissions and is quieter and cheaper to operate than traditional light jets, according to Eviation.
