Gregory Polek has spent his entire career in aviation journalism with AIN, starting as a proofreader and assistant to then-managing editor Mary Mahoney in 1995 after serving an internship with&nbsp;New Jersey Monthly&nbsp;magazine and completing his B.A. degree in English/Writing at New Jersey’s William Paterson College. By 1997 Polek accepted a position as an associate editor, covering the regional airline beat for&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;in place of retiring industry veteran Don Anderson. The assignment took Polek across North America and Europe to profile regional airlines varying in size and mission from the likes of floatplane operators Kenmore Air and Chalk’s Ocean Airways to regional jet operators such as SkyWest and American Eagle. Today, in his dual role as Air Transport Editor and International Airshow Editor, Polek writes, edits, and manages AIN’s commercial aviation content while overseeing each of the company’s daily international air show publications in Paris, Farnborough, Singapore, and Dubai. Most recently Polek has assumed oversight of daily coverage of the Helicopter Association International’s annual Heli-Expo convention.

Eviation has engaged Parker Aerospace to develop six technology system packages for its <a href="https://www.futureflight.aero/aircraft-program/alice">Alice</a> all-electric commuter aircraft. The companies now are entering the design phase for the production and certification phase of the nine-seat aircraft.
Parker plans to produce the six technology systems under development across all divisions within Parker Aerospace and at Parker’s Engineered Materials Group, including Parker Lord.
The systems involved include cockpit controls, consisting of sidestick, throttle, rudder control, and switching devices; the electromechanical flap system, including actuators, electronic control units, and position sensors; and the thermal management system, consisting of water cooling equipment for battery and electric propulsion heat management along with thermal materials for the battery pack.
The contract also includes the provision of hydraulic powerpacks for steering and braking systems, engine and inverter mounts for cabin noise mitigation, and elastomeric static and dynamic seal products such as a fire seal wall.

In July 2021, Eviation revealed a <a href="https://www.futureflight.aero/news-article/2021-07-01/eviation-unveils-redesigned-alice-electric-aircraft-first-flight-approaches">fundamental redesign</a> of the Alice, which it first unveiled at the 2019 Paris Air Show. After consultation with prospective customers and discovering the availability of more powerful electric propulsion units, it reduced the number of motors from three to two and relocated them from the wingtips to a new T-shaped tail.
The <a href="https://www.futureflight.aero/news-article/2022-05-30/eviation-says-alice-electric-commuter-set-summer-flight-test-lift">first flight</a> of the Alice remains imminent. In late May, Eviation said it expected the reach the milestone&nbsp;within "weeks"&nbsp;
