<p>The FAA is amending, restructuring, and consolidating falsification regulations to eliminate inconsistencies and combine all the rules and sanctions into a new FAR Part 3, Subpart D. The FAA and other stakeholders rely on complete and accurate information in safety-related records. Indeed, the FAA and other stakeholders make critical safety-related decisions based on the information, such as in FAA-required records, and rely on the veracity of that information. This final regulation is based on comments received on a notice of proposed rulemaking published on Feb. 8, 2024. It provided background on the types of conduct proscribed under the prior falsification regulations. In addition, the notice identified the regulations that contained a sanction provision for falsification. The final rule is effective Nov. 3, 2025.</p>
