The FAA is inviting proposals from vendors to serve as the “prime integrator” in developing a new management system to ensure&nbsp;air traffic flows safely and smoothly, “no matter the situation.” The Flow Management Data and Services (FMDS) system will replace the Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS), “whose technology is decades-old and is struggling with performance and maintainability issues,”&nbsp;said the agency. The new system is a requirement in the 2024 FAA Reauthorization Act. Vendor proposals are due by Oct. 10, 2025 and the FAA said it is expected to select the prime integrator by Oct. 31, 2025.
