<p>All civil aircraft—including UAS and foreign-registered aircraft—operating in the UK below 10,000 feet not required to be equipped with ADS-B Out will be mandated to have "electronic conspicuity" (EC) equipment that can detect and identify each other, under&nbsp;proposed rulemaking&nbsp;from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The objective of an EC mandate would be to reduce midair-collision risk in the UK's lower airspace. After an adequate transition period once the EC requirement is adopted, the UK said a single start date would better support the safety objectives of the mandate than a phased approach. Comments on the proposal are due by Sept. 22, 2026.</p>
