Transport Canada is reviewing a proposed update to the Air Canada and United Airlines Transborder Joint Business Arrangement that has been in place since July 2022. The airlines want to add Canada-U.S. routes to their joint business arrangement that are currently excluded. While the Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA) said it is not opposed to this joint venture, the association wants to “ensure proposed additional airline flights do not detract from already limited business aviation access to some slot-controlled airports.” CBAA is also concerned about how joint venture updates may impact airport fees and how airport property could be allocated to airlines versus FBO operations. Comments on the proposal are due by Nov. 15, 2026.
