The mobile facility will be used to determine how to optimize the experience of passengers traveling in eVTOL aircraft, as well as to demonstrate the operating concept to stakeholders around the U.S., including members of the public.
The concept of operations document spells out how autonomous aircraft could be safely integrated with new and existing vertiports and also with drones and piloted aircraft.
The trading conglomerate was joined by other new investors including industrial real estate company Goodman Group, Italian airport and infrastructure funds 2i Aeroporti and F2i, and GreenPoint, a U.S.-based venture-capital firm.
The partners are among several advanced air mobility companies engaged with Japanese authorities with a view to launching eVTOL air taxi services in the country from 2025.
