Daher’s aircraft division and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) have announced the continuation of their international internship program for the second consecutive year. This trans-Atlantic initiative, unveiled during GAMA’s Winter Board of Directors meeting in Washington, D.C., aims to cultivate promising future leaders in the general aviation sector.

The 2024 program will involve four students, two from North America and two from Europe, providing them with a comprehensive eight-week hands-on experience in their chosen fields within the industry. The North American interns will be stationed at Daher’s aircraft division headquarters in Tarbes, France, focusing on TBM aircraft, while their European counterparts will be based at the Sandpoint, Idaho facility where Kodiak aircraft production takes place.

A highlight of the internship is participation in the annual EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where the interns will support Daher’s team.

Nicolas Chabbert, senior v-p of Daher’s aircraft division, remarked, “More than ever, the general aviation sector must motivate those who will lead the industry of tomorrow—facing challenges that range from reducing its environmental impact and finding new global supply chain solutions to strengthening the talent pipeline for all types of jobs.”

GAMA president and CEO Pete Bunce commented, “After spending time with last year’s interns in Tarbes and Sandpoint, it was inspiring to see these extraordinary experiences spark their enthusiasm towards future opportunities in the industry.”
