NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen announced the organization is donating $10,000 to the Las Vegas Victims Fund to support those affected by the Mandalay Bay <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2017-10-08/nbaa-2017-launches-enhanced-security">shooting</a> that took place on October 1. Clark County Airport chief marketing officer Chris Jones and John Schreiber, senior director of business sales for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, were present during a press conference on Monday morning with Bolen at Henderson Executive Airport.

 


“Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people of Las Vegas, especially those who have been lost and their loved ones,” Bolen said. “The business aviation community stands in solidarity with everyone affected by this tragedy, and we thank the people of Las Vegas for opening their doors to us, especially at this difficult time.”

 


According to Bolen, NBAA’s donation is a “small, but heartfelt way” to thank city officials and citizens for supporting the convention and the business aviation community. Bolen then asked show attendees for their own contributions.

 


The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority estimates that the NBAA convention has a total economic impact of $49.3 million. Drawing in 1,000 exhibitors to the city, the event is ranked in the top 25 largest conventions by attendees in Las Vegas.

 


“NBAA has been a longstanding and valued partner for Clark County,” said Jones. “The association’s convention, and the presence of business aviation at our airports, have always had a very beneficial economic impact on Las Vegas and southern Nevada."
