Safe Flight AoA Indicator Now Standard on Cessna 172s

The dash-mounted system uses an LED-lit display and features a pilot-settable reference marker.

The Safe Flight SCc angle of attack (AoA) system is now standard equipment on all new Cessna 172 Skyhawks. It provides low airspeed awareness by providing both flashing red LEDs and an aural alert to warn the pilot of increasing AoA and impending stall. (Photo: Textron Aviation/Cessna Aircraft)

Safe Flight’s SCc angle-of-attack (AoA) system is now standard on all Cessna 172 Skyhawks, Textron Aviation subsidiary Cessna announced today at Sun ’n’ Fun 2016. The AoA system has been an option on the Cessna 182 Skylane and 206 Turbo Stationair.
