<p>Air BP Aviation Services has gone on record supporting the mission of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) with financial support for CAP’s cadet and youth-development programs. The Civil Air Patrol provides leadership training, technical education, scholarships and career education to almost 27,000 young men and women, ages 12 to 21. The nonprofit organization consists of some 62,000 volunteer members nationwide and is the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. With a fleet of 550 single-engine aircraft, the CAP performs 95 percent of continental U.S. inland search-and-rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and was credited last year with saving more than 140 lives.</p>
<p>“CAP’s dual commitment to our homeland security and the development of our future aviators is a noble and just cause,” said Mike Delk, president of Air BP Aviation Services. Richard Bowling, CAP national commander, said, “We want to thank Air BP for its support.”</p>
