StandardAero has moved its Pratt & Whitney PT6A heavy maintenance services from Grapevine, Texas, to the company’s primary campus at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (KDFW). The move adds more capacity to StandardAero’s Texas PT6A services with on-site test cell support and U.S. duty-free import, thanks to the location’s foreign trade zone status.
Dallas Airmotive was the first independent Pratt & Whitney Canada authorized maintenance facility, established more than 60 years ago, and StandardAero acquired it in 2021. StandardAero supports a variety of PT6A types across its facilities in Dallas, Prince Edward Island in Canada, Gonesse, France, Johannesburg, South Africa, and Brisbane, Australia as well as with regional turbine centers and mobile service teams.
“The operational shift is focusing on creating added value for our customers,” said StandardAero president of business aviation Joe Capra. “While the transition of engine maintenance operations from site to site is not a simple task, the outcome of turn time optimization due to the expanded operational capability is worth it to deliver a better service for our customers.”
