Flight departments can now rehearse an emergency and then manage a real one using an app module from business aviation manuals and safety management software developer Nimbl. The Emergency Response Platform, which is being demonstrated this week at the company’s NBAA-BACE booth, is designed to prepare flight departments for the worst and help manage and track tasks and responses in a real emergency.

Simulations in the module are designed to let operators uncover gaps and get familiar with their roles in a crisis situation. Once an operator activates the module for a real emergency event, users are prompted to record details and update them as circumstances change.

A dashboard gives fast access to information, including the operator’s emergency response plan manual, checklists, and contacts. Details such as incident type, elapsed time, and affected aircraft stay at the top of the screen, where the team can see them throughout.

“Easy access to critical information, combined with familiarity with the procedures, can save valuable time when every second matters. Response simulations and resources in a centralized hub help flight teams build the confidence to act quickly and effectively when a real emergency occurs,” said Nimbl CEO Mark Baier.

According to Nimbl, operators can call its aviation experts for guidance and support, and attendees can meet them at its show booth this week.
