Moove has added a crew currency management system to its instant booking engine, to help Part 91 and 135 operators ensure that flight crew are eligible for a particular trip. The currency checks are done before a flight is confirmed through the customer-facing booking system.

The complexity of matching aircraft availability with crew requirements is challenging and often involves many additional steps. Moove's crew currency management system allows users to customize rules for crew currency within scheduling and trip request workflows.

This includes supporting the complex regulatory logic that is especially relevant for Part 135 charter operators. For example, according to Moove, “FAA night with turbine alternate under 14 CFR 61.57(e)(4) may involve several conditions, time windows, and alternative qualification pathways depending on the pilot, aircraft, and operation.”

Moove helps operators build these rules into the booking and assignment process, but it is also adding Ask Moove, which allows companies to use plain-language queries. This includes accessing information from the crew currency management system as well as scheduling information, passengers records, and crew data.

“Being able to instantly access crew currency and create custom rules connected to our trip request workflow makes aircraft scheduling much faster and more reliable,” said Clayton Aviation chief pilot Jeffrey King. “Leveraging the integrated crew planning spreadsheet against the available crew assignments section provides unmatched scheduling power for our administrative team.”
