MyAirOps is offering private aviation passengers, executive assistants, aircraft owners, and other approved end users what it said is a more effective way to engage with their flight department. The UK-based group this week launched a public-facing portal integrated with its MyAirOps Flight platform for aviation professionals.
According to the software specialist, requests from end users generally arrive with operators via separate forms, messages, emails, and standalone systems disconnected from scheduling platforms. MyAirOps said the integrated approach will support a more connected workflow, avoiding the need for operations staff to manually transfer information before starting to plan a trip.
“Business aviation software has traditionally focused on the schedulers, dispatchers, crew, and operations teams responsible for delivering a flight,” said MyAirOps president Tim Ford. “But the operational process begins before a trip reaches the schedule. Our portal is designed to connect the people requesting travel with the flight department managing it, without creating another isolated system or manual workflow.”
According to Ford, many customers find that apps for scheduled airlines offer a more user-friendly experience than those for business aircraft operators. “I agree with their viewpoint, and at MyAirOps we are rethinking the problem from the ground up and giving business aviation users the experience they deserve,” he noted.
MyAirOps said its portal aims to help aircraft operators provide a more accessible experience for their customers while retaining control of the workflow for each trip. It has sought to make this possible by supporting operators with fewer resources and technical capabilities than commercial operators.
The new interface is being rolled out in phases. Some customers are already using the portal for specific operating requirements, with further capabilities being added later, in part based on client feedback.
