NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman will join former space shuttle commander Charlie Precourt, an NBAA board member, for a fireside chat at the association’s Newsmakers Luncheon in Las Vegas on October 19, the eve of NBAA-BACE 2026.
Isaacman, who became head of NASA in December, has logged more than 8,000 flight hours and is qualified to fly military jets such as the MiG-29UB and Aero L-39 Albatros. He is also an honorary fellow of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots and set several world speed records in 2009 while raising money for Make-A-Wish.
A past recipient of NBAA’s top honor, the Meritorious Service to Aviation Award, Isaacman had the association’s backing for his NASA nomination. In space, he commanded the Inspiration4 and Polaris Dawn missions and performed the first commercial spacewalk.
Precourt, a retired U.S. Air Force test pilot who flew on four space shuttle missions, has more than 11,000 flight hours in more than 90 aircraft types and is type rated in several Citation models. In addition to his NBAA board seat, held since 2019, he serves on the Experimental Aircraft Association board and chairs the Citation Jet Pilots Association’s safety committee.
“Their unique perspectives offer attendees a compelling look at where the industry is headed and how business aviation fits into that future,” said NBAA interim COO Dan Hubbard.
