Aviation medical and security assistance provider MedAire has made a strategic investment in GoCrisis, which will use MedAire’s information technology, finance, and back-office infrastructure. MedAire said the move takes the companies’ four-year aviation partnership toward closer business integration, but both will keep their identities, organizational capabilities, and existing roles. Aviation clients will continue working with their established teams.
“The closer relationship is intended to let clients retain the decisions that belong to them while MedAire carries more of the operational burden of bringing the right support around their people,” MedAire CEO Bill Dolny said.
MedAire says the companies’ teams can plan together ahead of an incident. When one occurs, they can coordinate medical and security guidance, family assistance, and recovery.
MedAire, an International SOS company, supports aviation clients around the clock. It launched its MedLink ground-based telemedicine service for in-flight emergencies in 1985 and says it has managed more than one million medical and security cases for aviation operators worldwide. GoCrisis, founded in 2014, specializes in crisis management and emergency response for organizations, with services that include crisis advisory, humanitarian support, and media management. GoCrisis’ work for clients outside aviation will not change.
“After years of working side by side, our organizations know where our responsibilities meet during an aviation incident,” Dolny said.
“Supporting someone who has lived through an accident is complex,” GoCrisis founder and CEO Elmarie Marais said. “It requires careful coordination among emergency services, authorities, insurers, and NGOs to create a seamless network of support. Care for injured survivors can be long-term and may involve life-changing injuries.”
MedAire says the combined crisis-response network for aviation clients comprises more than 100 crisis experts and 2,000 GoResponders. Partners in more than 90 countries give those clients access to more than 100,000 emergency response specialists. Backing it are 29 assistance centers, 25 security centers, and more than 91,000 vetted providers.
MedAire introduced Contingency360, developed with GoCrisis for flight departments and operators, at the NBAA convention in October 2025. The program includes emergency response planning, real-time aircraft tracking, and family assistance.
