Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (OMRK) is to get a VIP terminal and private aircraft hangar through a joint investment announced by the emirate’s government and Falcon Executive Aviation on Wednesday. During a press conference at the Dubai Airshow, officials said the initiative is part of Ras Al Khaimah’s plan to become an entertainment and tourism hub in the north of the UAE.
Falcon Executive Aviation, which is a subsidiary of Alex Group Investment, will build and operate an FBO at the airport. This will consist of a 16,146-sq-ft terminal building and an 86,111-sq-ft hangar adjoining a spacious apron area for aircraft parking.
The airport is a 15-minute drive from Ras Al Khaimah’s beach resorts, which in 2027 will include the Wynn Al Marjan Island complex with a casino. The emirate is making a concerted effort to attract high-end travelers, including private aviation customers, to draw some of the revenues that are currently going to neighboring Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Falcon’s terminal will include a Royal lounge and four other passenger lounges, plus what the company described as “premium hospitality areas.” The site will also have a helipad and space for new eVTOL aircraft to operate.
In September, eVTOL aircraft developer Joby signed an agreement with Skyports Infrastructure to launch <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/futureflight/2025-09-29/joby-skyports-ink-air-taxi-deal-uae-emirate">air taxi services</a> in Ras Al Khaimah. The first vertiport in its network is expected to b at Al Marjan Island.

According to Falcon, construction work will take 15 months with the new facility expected to open during the first quarter of 2027. The company said the terminal and hangars are being design to achieve the LEED Gold sustainability certification standard that requires that 35% of energy consumption comes from solar panels. The FBO will use electric ground support vehicles and make sustainable aviation fuel available to aircraft operators.
Falcon Executive Aviation is part of a wider business aviation services group that also includes the Falcon Elite FBO brand and <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2025-11-18/falcon-technic-earns-uae-design-organization-approval">Falcon Technic</a> maintenance repair and overhaul operation. The company, which already has an FBO at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (OMDW), provides aircraft charter and management services through its Falcon Luxe unit with flights operated by sister company Alex Jet, which this week secured a UAE air operator certificate.
