A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Business aviation sustainability solutions provider 4Air has reached several milestones since its launch five years ago.&nbsp;The company noted that it has facilitated the offset of more than 6 million tonnes of CO2 through the use of verified carbon offsets and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) by its customers.
That equates to more than 2 million carbon-neutral flight hours, and the documented use of 20.2 million gallons of blended SAF, which by itself was responsible for life cycle CO2 emissions reductions of 43,000 tonnes of CO2 compared to the use of jet-A.
Since 2020, 4Air has also contributed $250,000 to support aviation sustainability research through its Aviation Climate Fund, and it recently implemented the first live trials for the mitigation of business aviation contrails.
“Our goal with launching 4Air was to make sustainability accessible, and this success shows that there is a desire by business aviation to decarbonize, if the right tools are put in place,” said company president Kennedy Ricci. “But we must keep pushing to drive broader industry adoption and achieve even higher levels of sustainability.”
NBAA has set a voluntary industry goal of net-zero for 2050. SAF adoption by business aircraft operators will play a large part in being able to achieve that goal.
