A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Flightpath Aviation, the recently-launched sister of Canadian aircraft operator Flightpath Charter Airways, will serve as the exclusive tenant of a hangar under construction at the Atlantic Aviation FBO complex at Florida’s Boca Raton Airport (KBCT).
The 30,000-sq-ft structure—being built by Atlantic and expected to be completed in October—will feature a 195-foot-wide, 28-foot-high door that will allow it to accommodate the latest ultra-long-range business jets. With 8,000 sq ft of office space on two floors, the hangar will also serve as Flightpath’s U.S. headquarters.&nbsp;Capable of sheltering up to seven large aircraft, the hangar will be located steps away from KBCT’s customs facility and the Atlantic terminal.
“This new hangar represents an important step in our efforts to better serve clients in the U.S.,” said David Shaver, Flightpath Aviation’s managing director. “South Florida continues to be an important region for private aviation, and this facility allows us to support our clients with added convenience and reliable service.”
As the company looks to build up the fleet on its U.S. certificate, Shaver told AIN that many of the owners of its 23 Canada-based aircraft also have residences in Florida. Flightpath also provides advisory services on which jurisdiction and registry would best suit their activities.
