Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

The January 31 crash of Bombardier Learjet 55 in Philadelphia claimed an eighth victim when a woman, Dominique Goods-Burke, succumbed to her injuries on April 27. Her employer, High Point Café, posted a tribute to Goods-Burke, announcing the passing of the 34-year-old mother of three who had served as the day bake supervisor.
According to a GoFundMe page, she was with her family on an outing to a local mall when debris from the Learjet accident struck her car, catching it on fire.
The aircraft had departed Northeast Philadelphia Airport (KPNE) at 6:07 p.m. local time on a flight to Springfield-Branson National Airport (KSGF) in Missouri, but went down about one minute after takeoff. Both pilots, two medical crewmembers, and two patients onboard the Part 129 air ambulance flight died in the accident. Reports at the time of the crash had one other fatality on the ground, along with four people seriously injured and 20 more with minor injuries.
According to the NTSB preliminary report, the crew did not make any distress radio calls during the flight. Security camera footage had shown a large explosion as the aircraft crashed in a residential/commercial area. The debris field extended 1,410 feet by 840 feet, according to the preliminary report. Investigation of the accident is ongoing.
