A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Aircraft Services Group (ASG) has broken ground on its new corporate headquarters hangar complex at Florida’s Sarasota–Bradenton International Airport (KSRQ). Founded in 1989, the family-run business provides a slate of aircraft operations: charter, management, maintenance, brokerage, and consulting. It operates a fleet of 26 aircraft, including heavy jets.
ASG subleases hangar space at Boston-area Hanscom Field (KBED), Teterboro (KTEB), New York’s Farmingdale (KFRG) and Westchester (KHPN) airports, Chicago Executive (KPWK), and at Florida’s Palm Beach (KPBI) and Miami–Opa Locka (KOPF) airports and has a temporary hangar in Sarasota, but this will be its first dedicated facility.
The $25 million project at KSRQ will be divided into two phases. First is a 30,000-sq-ft hangar capable of sheltering the latest ultra-long-range jets, along with a fuel farm and a terminal building with offices and a customer lounge. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Phase 2 will add another 30,000-sq-ft hangar. These&nbsp;will be for the private use of ASG’s clients, and the company will provide fuel, maintenance, and passenger handling.
“The groundbreaking ceremony marks an exciting new chapter for our company, and for the Sarasota-Bradenton region,” said company CEO Peter Cuomo. “Our new headquarters at [KSRQ] will increase our ability to offer world-class aviation services and will also create high-quality job opportunities in this thriving area.”
