Charles Alcock is managing editor of the AIN Media Group, having rejoined the company in 2019. French aerobatics club Dijon Voltige this week became the launch operator for Aura Aero’s Integral R light aircraft. The Toulouse-based start-up announced its first delivery on the eve of the Aero Friedrichshafen show in Germany, where it is exhibiting just three months after achieving EASA certification for the two-seat trainer.
Aura Aero is also developing an electric version of the single-engine model, called the Integral E. Separately, it is working on plans for a 19-seat hybrid-electric regional airliner called the ERA.
According to the manufacturer, it is aiming to achieve a production rate of 15 Integral Rs for the rest of 2025. The company is in the process of launching a digital platform that will allow operators to access support throughout the life of their aircraft, and this feature should be operational in the second half of 2025.
“Dijon Voltige has trusted us from the beginning and has supported us throughout the aircraft development process,” said Aura Aero co-founder and CEO Jérémy Caussade. “We are very proud to share with them this key moment in the company’s history.”
The Integral R made its first flight in June 2020 at Toulouse-Francazal Airport. It completed flight testing in December 2024.
