A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Million Air broke ground yesterday on the Phase II expansion of its FBO at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (KAUS) in Texas. The FBO—one of three on the field—<a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2019-10-23/million-air-goes-live-austin?amp=&amp;qt-latest_trending=1">opened</a> in 2019.
This second $50 million phase—scheduled for completion in second-quarter 2026—will add a trio of 40,000-sq-ft hangars capable of handling the latest ultra-long-range business jets. This will bring the facility to more than 241,000 sq ft of aircraft shelter and double the ramp to 19 acres. A company executive told AIN that if the facility had another 100,000 sq ft of hangar space today, it would already be fully occupied based on current demand.
The project also will include a 15,600-sq-ft office building for tenants, two new staffed 7,300-sq-ft, two-story departure lounges sandwiched between the new hangars, and four additional parking lots (one valet served) to accommodate up to 233 vehicles. This is in addition to the existing 15,000-sq-ft terminal and its slate of upscale amenities including a complementary barista-staffed coffee bar, upstairs sky lounge, and exterior wrap-around balcony offering airfield views.
