A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Germany-based Reiser Simulation and Training will deliver a level-D simulator for the Airbus Helicopters light-twin H135/H145 to the new European Heli Center (EHC) headquarters under construction at Lelystad Airport near Amsterdam.&nbsp;This move will enhance training capabilities in Central Europe starting at the end of 2026.
“We are delighted to partner with EHC in their ambitious endeavor to create a world-class training center,” said Reiser CEO Johannes Hain. “The contract marks another milestone in our history as Europe’s renowned manufacturer of helicopter full-flight simulators.”
The Lelystad facility will provide pilot and crew training solutions, including mission-specific curricula designed to improve operational safety and efficiency. Located near Schiphol Airport, it will offer accessibility to international arrivals from all over the world. As part of its expansion, EHC has signed an agreement with Bristow Group’s Nigeria division to provide pilot training on the H135. Bristow will be one of the primary users of the H135 at the new center.
“By combining our extensive training expertise with Reiser’s cutting-edge simulation systems, we are creating the most modern and comprehensive helicopter training center in the world,” explained EHC CEO Jeroen Peddemors. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to providing the highest quality training to meet the evolving needs of the global helicopter industry.”
