A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Kansas-based MRO and FBO services provider Yingling Aviation has acquired Wichita-based Global Engineering &amp; Technology, a company that provides aircraft cabin refurbishment.
With more than three decades of experience, Global Engineering—which specializes in interior design and restoration—has fabricated the interiors of more than 4,500 business aircraft. The company offers a wide variety of services such as aircraft cabinet restoration, upholstered panel recovery, new furniture production, and seat recovering and refurbishment.
“Integrating [Global Engineering] into our operations will allow us to greatly increase our scope of work for interior renovations while accelerating client turnaround times,” said Yingling CEO Bob Rasberry. “Having collaborated closely with [the company] over the years, we have firsthand knowledge of the quality of their team and its outstanding reputation across the industry.”
The move adds 60,000 sq ft of floor space as <a href="https://live.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2023-06-06/pe-firm-acquires-majority-stake-yingling-aviation">AE Industrial Partners-backed</a> Yingling continues to <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-09-19/yingling-aviation-expands-through-purchase-rival">expand</a> its footprint at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport&nbsp;(KICT).
“The acquisition of [Global Engineering] marks another milestone in our strategy to build a unique independent MRO platform with deep operating experience and technical expertise to serve the business aviation market,” explained AE Industrial Partners managing partner Jon Nemo. “The range of services [it] provides is a natural complement to Yingling’s MRO business and will allow us to unlock new growth opportunities.”
