Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Aviation real estate company Sky Harbour continues to rapidly expand its reach under a new lease agreement with Salt Lake City International Airport (KSLC) to develop a hangar campus on 8.4 acres to serve the Rocky Mountain region. The campus will complement its work already in development at Denver Centennial Airport (KAPA) for a turnkey hangar complex with line services dedicated to base tenants.
Plans for the $40 million project call for four hangars of 34,000 sq ft each (exact sizes subject to change) at KSLC, with construction beginning in August 2025 and continuing into 2026. Each hangar can be divided into two private hangars, lounge, and office facilities. In addition, there will be a Sky Harbor ground support and office facility.
In signing the lease, Salt Lake City International Airport said it has ambitions to build up what it said will be “the best home base in business aviation” and estimated that the development project would create or sustain hundreds of jobs in the region.
“Sky Harbour will not only greatly enhance the campus of the SLC International Airport but will benefit the city, state, and region as well,” said Bill Wyatt, executive director of the Salt Lake City Department of Airports. “We look forward to working with Sky Harbour to augment SLC’s business aviation industry.”
Sky Harbour chairman and CEO Tal Keinan called the airport “a gem in the growing Rocky Mountain Region,” noting that it is one of the fastest-growing business aviation facilities.
Sky Harbour <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2020-08-20/private-hangar-complex-set-open">in 2020</a> outlined a vision to create a nationwide network of such campuses and now is operating at Houston’s Sugar Land Regional Airport, Nashville International Airport, Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, and San Jose Mineta International Airport, with others in development at Phoenix Deer Valley Airport, Dallas’ Addison Airport, Chicago Executive Airport, Bradley International Airport, Hudson Valley Regional Airport, Orlando Executive Airport, and New York Stewart International Airport.
Its most recent previous announcement, made in June, was for <a href="https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2024-06-10/sky-harbour-inks-washington-dc-hangar-development-deal">Washington Dulles International Airport</a>&nbsp;(KIAD), and the company expects to reveal further locations soon.
